In a bid to ease access to agricultural inputs during these challenging times, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori, the member representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency in Adamawa State, has flagged off the distribution of free fertilizer to his constituents to boost food production.
The event, held at the Reps Constituency Office in Numan, attracted farmers from across the constituency. The distribution process was well-organized, ensuring many benefited from the lawmaker's generous gesture, with vehicles loaded to distribute the fertilizer.
Represented by Adamawa State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. James Iliya, the lawmaker expressed gratitude to his constituents for their unwavering support and assured them of more democratic dividends whenever possible.
Hon. Kwamoti urged beneficiaries not to sell the fertilizer but to use it to enhance their farm yields, ensuring a bountiful harvest and improved financial stability.
Engr. Lyentapwa Garba, Board Chairman of the Adamawa State Road Maintenance Agency, thanked the lawmaker for providing the necessary logistics to ensure the fertilizer reached the targeted farmers through their Ward representatives. Garba also called for continued support and prayers for Hon. Kwamoti to enable him to do more for his constituents.
In response, the Distribution Committee, represented by Hon. Godday Namiji, Happy Maxwell, and Piyeno Dore, praised Hon. Kwamoti's responsive and visionary leadership. They expressed gratitude for his timely and invaluable intervention in meeting the needs of his constituents.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Pwagwadi Omeno thanked Hon. Innocent Koto, Hon. Bulus Daniel, Hon. Akham Jalo—Chairmen of Numan, Lamurde, and Demsa LGAs—and other dignitaries for their ongoing support and cooperation.
The event's highlight was the symbolic presentation of fertilizer bags to representatives of the three LGAs, performed by Hon. James Iliya, Engr. Garba Lyentapwa, and Hon. Mennas Ngangurah, Board Chairman of Adamawa State Mining Company.
The current hardship and threat to food security in the country have spurred Hon. Kwamoti Laori to embark on massive empowerment programs within his constituency. These initiatives, almost a weekly routine, mark the third empowerment effort by him in a month.
It is noteworthy that Hon. Kwamoti recently sponsored the training and empowerment of farmers, donated cash and farm inputs, and supported women's peace-building initiatives, where millions were provided as livelihood support.
This marks the second time that Rt. Hon. Kwamoti La'ori has conducted fertilizer distribution, following a similar event in July 2024.
