The current Chairman of Gamawa Local Government, Hon. Madaki Ahmed Gololo, has claimed that the people of Gamawa have regretted electing the current member representing Gamawa Federal Constituency, Hon. Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa, who succeeded Gololo in the Federal Assembly.

Gololo made this statement in a recent media interview during the local government elections in Bauchi State.

The former lawmaker criticized his successor, stating that since assuming office at the National Assembly in Abuja, Gamawa has not seen any significant intervention from him.

Gololo alleged that the seat was acquired with substantial financial influence, though he chose to overlook this to maintain peace. He emphasized that the people of Gamawa voted for their community, not the APC.

"The current parliament member has taken credit for nearly all the work I did while in office. I lobbied for these projects in Abuja, but he falsely claims them as his own. This is a betrayal of trust and reflects poor leadership, much like his mentor," Gololo said.

He criticized the current MP for being unresponsive to advice, lacking cooperation, and failing to engage with the governor. Gololo contrasted this with his own approach, stating that he regularly visited Gamawa and stayed connected with his community.

Gololo expressed gratitude for the community's continued support and pledged that if re-elected as Chairman of Gamawa Local Government Area, he would address their needs effectively.

In response to these accusations, Hon. Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa, the current MP, defended his record. He stated that all the projects attributed to him were indeed his own initiatives and that he had provided urgent aid to flood victims, including food, medicine, and financial support.

Gamawa highlighted his efforts to create employment for Gamawa youth, including providing commercial motorcycles and job placements in various ministries. He also noted his contributions to vocational training and financial support for women.

"Despite being in office for only a year, I have implemented more projects than Gololo did in his eight years. I have established over 1,000 boreholes, provided irrigation machines, and supported dry-season farmers. The people of Gamawa have benefitted greatly," Gamawa stated.

He dismissed Gololo's claims about his representation, asserting that his work and presence in Abuja were crucial for the constituency. Gamawa also refuted allegations of election rigging, stating that the election process was transparent and that the people of Gamawa chose him over Gololo.

Gamawa concluded by emphasizing that political disputes should end and that the focus should be on delivering tangible results. He reiterated his commitment to treating all constituents equally, regardless of party affiliation.

Before the elections, Gololo had accused the APC of buying the Federal Assembly seat for Gamawa, an allegation denied by the APC Secretary in Gamawa, Hon. Nasiru Malami, who labeled it as political mischief.
