The Niger State Planning Commission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, is currently conducting its annual zonal meetings to prepare the budget for the 2025 fiscal year across all zones of the state.
In a bid to ensure inclusiveness and transparency in the budgeting process, the Honourable Commissioner, Mustapha Ndajiwo, is leading a team to engage directly with grassroots stakeholders in major zones across the state.
These meetings bring together representatives from local governments, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders to discuss and gather input on the state’s budgetary priorities.
During the visits to local government areas, presentations on the citizens' budget were made, and courtesy visits were paid to His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, as well as to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Lapai, Umaru Bago Tafida.
The full participation of all stakeholders and leaders in these zones underscores the administration's commitment to participatory governance and financial transparency.
Under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the Niger State Planning Commission is working diligently to ensure that every resident of Niger State, regardless of their background, is represented in the upcoming 2025 budget.
