Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, CP Audu Ali Dabigi |
Dear Sir,
COMPLAINT REGARDING POOR ENGLISH GRAMMAR OF THE POLICE FORCE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER MR. MANSIR HASSAN
I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the extremely poor English grammar exhibited by the Police Force Public Relations Officer (PRO) in his recent interview granted to the media accusing what he termed IMN of hijacking the end bad governance protest that is currently on going in the country.
As representatives of the police force, the public relations officers play a crucial role in conveying important information to the public. Their communications are not only a reflection of the police force but also of the Nigerian nation as a whole. Unfortunately, the recent statements and press releases from Mr. Mansir Hassan have been marred by numerous grammatical errors and poorly constructed sentences, which significantly undermine the professionalism and credibility of the police force.
It is disheartening to see that such an important role is being compromised by a lack of proficiency in the English language. This issue is not just a minor inconvenience; it is a matter of national concern. The ability to communicate effectively and accurately is fundamental to maintaining public trust and ensuring clear understanding between the police force and the community they serve.
I urge you to take immediate steps to address this issue. It is essential to provide adequate training and support to the Public Relations Officer who it appears he has been to some kind of schooling to improve his command of the English language and social interactions. Additionally, I recommend that future appointments to this critical position should be made with a strict emphasis on linguistic proficiency.
I trust that you will give this matter the urgent attention it deserves. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Bar. Habeeb Abdulhakeem
