This week, Honorable Umar Shehu Ajino, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Makarfi and Kudan constituencies in Kaduna State, launched a fish farming and animal rearing training program for 200 youths in his constituency.
Our correspondent attended the event, which was held at the Isa Ashiru Skills Acquisition Center in Kudan.
The training was conducted by Agard Farms Ltd., under the leadership of Mr. Husaini Isa (Maji Dadi). Several agricultural experts delivered presentations on modern farming techniques. Dr. Yusuf Adam, one of the trainers, told the press that the participants—200 men and women—appreciated the simplicity and practicality of the training. He explained that the training focused on fish farming, including demonstrations of its potential benefits and solutions to common challenges.
Dr. Adam commended Hon. Ajino for his initiative and expressed hope that the attendees would apply the knowledge they gained.
Professor Lawal Sa’eed Makarfi, a representative of Hon. Ajino, explained that the training was aimed at helping the youths become self-reliant and contributing to poverty alleviation and economic development in Kudan Local Government and beyond. He extended his gratitude to the sponsor, Hon. Ajino, and Agard Farms Ltd. for their efforts.
Honourable Halliru M. Sule, a close associate of the legislator and an observer at the event addressed journalists after the training, affirming that the people of Kudan made the right choice by supporting the PDP.
He emphasized that this initiative reflects Hon. Ajino's commitment to the development of the constituency and urged continued cooperation with the legislator.
One of the beneficiaries, Malama Rashidat from Gubuci, expressed her appreciation for the training and confirmed her intention to start fish farming based on the knowledge she gained. She also extended her gratitude to Hon. Ajino for sponsoring the program.
The event concluded peacefully.
