Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the appointment of Abubakar Sadiq Idris as the new Head of Service for the state.
A statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SGS), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, confirmed that the appointment takes immediate effect.
The statement urged the new Head of Service (HOS) to carry out his responsibilities in line with civil service rules and regulations, drawing on his extensive experience to excel in his new role. It also called on all civil servants in the state to support and cooperate with the new HOS in order to build on the successes of his predecessors.
Before his appointment, Abubakar Idris served as the Permanent Secretary in the General Services Department of the SSG’s office. He has held various roles in multiple Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), including the Ministries of Water Resources, Solid Minerals, and the Public Service Office, among others.
The statement also emphasized the importance of civil servants upholding values such as loyalty, integrity, transparency, and probity in the discharge of their duties.
The government thanked the immediate past Head of Service, Engr. Abubakar Y. Salisu, for his outstanding performance, describing his tenure as exceptional and rewarding.
Governor Bago congratulated the new Head of Service on his appointment, wishing him success and divine guidance as he undertakes the responsibilities of his new office.
