Bauchi State Governor, Bala Muhammad, has officially launched the construction of 38 kilometers of rural roads in Kirfi Local Government Area, marking a key step in his administration's commitment to improving rural development and connectivity.
The road project, awarded at an estimated cost of N18 billion, is set to link the rural communities of Bara, Hashidu, Tubule, Garin Malam Julde, and Wanka. The new roads aim to enhance economic growth, social interaction, and access to essential services for these underserved areas.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held in Bara Village, Governor Bala Muhammad underscored the critical role of rural infrastructure in fostering development and improving the quality of life for rural residents.
The governor highlighted that this project is part of his administration's broader strategy to address infrastructure deficits in rural areas, promoting inclusive growth across the state.
Expressing optimism about the project's impact, Governor Muhammad stated, "This road will not only facilitate the movement of people, goods, and services but also improve access to rural markets, schools, healthcare facilities, and other vital services."
He commended Triacta Nigeria Limited, the contractor, for their dedication to delivering quality work and assured the local communities that his administration would closely monitor the project's progress to ensure timely completion.
In his remarks, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Adamu, praised the project, noting its potential to boost the local economy. He pointed out that farmers and traders would benefit from easier transportation of goods, while residents would gain better access to essential social services.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by local government officials, traditional leaders, and community members, who expressed their gratitude to the governor for prioritizing rural development.
