Men and officers of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency have participated in capacity-building training on leadership and citizenship development initiatives.
The Commander General of the Agency, Amb. Dr. Umar Aliyu Shayi, led the contingent to the Mountain School in Shere Hills, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, where they underwent this significant training.
The theme of the training was "Build the Man, Build the Community."
The primary objective of the program was to uphold professionalism, integrity, respect for human rights, and the rule of law while combating terrorism and crime across Bauchi State.
According to Commander General Dr. Shayi, another key aspect of this essential leadership training is to enhance credible intelligence gathering and foster synergy with other conventional security agencies, in line with globally accepted best practices for securing lives and property in Bauchi State.
Dr. Shayi highlighted that the Mountain School has been a well-established training ground for leadership and citizenship development since the 1970s in Nigeria.
He commended the school for its commitment to professionalism and expressed gratitude for their dedication to the training process. Dr. Shayi assured that the skills and knowledge gained would be effectively utilized to ensure sustainable and impactful results, in accordance with standardized training practices.
Furthermore, Dr. Umar Aliyu expressed his appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammad for his support and tireless efforts in ensuring that the agency continues to thrive in the interest of public safety.
The Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency was established in accordance with Sub-section 3 of Section 100 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This underscores Governor Bala Mohammad's dedication to ensuring public safety and the security of lives and property for the citizens of Bauchi State.
