The National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN), Kaduna State Chapter, has strongly condemned the heinous and unlawful abduction of its members, which occurred on Monday while they were on duty at PHC Kuyallo in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
Comrade Aliyu Abdulrasheed Umar, State Chairman of the association, issued the condemnation in a press release distributed to news outlets in Zaria. He described the act of violence as a gross violation of human rights and the principles of justice, freedom, and service to humanity that the association upholds.
He stated that the abduction is a cowardly and reprehensible crime that inflicts deep emotional and psychological trauma on the victims, their families, and the communities they serve.
NACHPN emphasized that such actions have no place in a civilized society and must be addressed with the full force of the law to ensure that healthcare personnel can continue to provide vital services, particularly in rural areas.
The association called on the Kaduna State government and relevant authorities to take immediate and decisive action to secure the safe return of the victims without delay. They also urged national and international communities, as well as all relevant stakeholders, to stand against this unacceptable breach of human rights.
“Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we remain committed to supporting them through this difficult time,” the press release stated.
The State Chairman also urged members to report any suspicious activity around their facilities to the appropriate authorities to facilitate prompt action.
