Security expert Muhammed Bello Bakyasuwa has praised the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, for his efforts in establishing the Joint Military Theatre Operations in the North West, aimed at addressing insecurity in the region.
Bakyasuwa, the immediate past Commandant of the Zamfara Anti-Thuggery Agency, expressed confidence in the ongoing military operations, stating that they are capable of tackling the security challenges that have plagued Zamfara State and the broader region for over a decade.
During a recent one-day visit to Zamfara State, Gen. Christopher Musa announced the creation of a joint military theatre operation, to be named "Operation Fansar Yanma North West." The operation is designed to combat the persistent security issues in the region, such as cattle rustling, banditry, illegal mining, drug abuse, and kidnapping.
Bakyasuwa applauded Gen. Musa’s proactive approach, highlighting the importance of appointing a capable Theatre Commander and sector commanders to lead the operation. "With the military’s battle formations on the ground, we are hopeful that sustainable peace will be restored in Zamfara State and the North West region," he said.
As a former Director of Security Matters and Commandant of the Zamfara State Anti-Thuggery Agency, Bakyasuwa acknowledged the recent successes of the military in combating terrorism in the region, including the neutralization of the notorious terrorist, Halilu Sububu, and other key bandit leaders.
He further emphasized the importance of the ongoing operations, stating, "The Defence Chief is justifying the confidence Nigerians have placed in him. I commend the entire security apparatus of the country for their improved efforts in ensuring national security."
Bakyasuwa also urged the military to maintain the momentum, encouraging them to continue their efforts to restore peace and stability across the country.
