Dear Editor,
I humbly request a small space in your esteemed publication, Daily Struggle Newspaper, to express my gratitude and commendation to the SSA for Community Engagement to the President at the North East Development Commission, Abdulhamid Yahaya Abba (a.k.a Don Jazzy).
I would like to take a moment to discuss this outstanding and industrious man, Abdulhamid Yahaya Abba (Abdul Jazzy). His qualities, contributions, sacrifices, and the misconceptions surrounding him are noteworthy. In my view, he is the perfect example of the type of young politician we, the youth, have always aspired to see in leadership.
He is an upright young man with exemplary political and personal characteristics. He performs his duties exceptionally well, showing commitment and dedication despite being the youngest SSA to the President.
I see a potential good leader and great hope for the disillusioned youth. In today's challenging world, not many young men would find themselves in such a position and still remain dedicated and true to their duties. Abdulhamid is highly skilled at managing various issues with adeptness.
He led Tinubu’s "Lungu Lungu Project" during the 2023 Presidential Election Campaign, which made a significant impact on Tinubu’s election as President of Nigeria.
Now, Abdulhamid Yahaya has been appointed as the Presidential Aide on Community Engagement at the North East Development Commission. He will assist the President by providing solid advice to ensure smooth and sustainable development initiatives across the North East region, focusing on areas such as agriculture, entrepreneurship, ICT, and youth empowerment.
This is a commendable action aimed at alleviating poverty and frustration in this region, a move rarely seen among young politicians. If more young people like him enter politics, I am confident that there will be progress, development, and positive changes.
We also appreciate the President for involving diligent youth in his administration. This reflects his hope and great expectations for young Nigerians, who are, after all, the backbone of society. This will inspire and motivate every youth in the country, even the less active ones.
However, I have seen unjust criticism against him—baseless accusations and apparent lies—often from the youth themselves. His strategic moves and actions are commendable, and we should be supporting him, not attacking him from behind our keyboards. It takes immense hard work to be like Abdul Jazzy.
No one can name another young person like Abdul Jazzy who contributes to society through philanthropic gestures, volunteering, and other altruistic acts. Recently, people in the North East have witnessed and can attest to his good deeds.
Most of the negativity and derogatory remarks seem to be driven by jealousy. If we work together, we will progress together. But if we tear each other down, we will undoubtedly fall together. I’m not saying all youth behave this way, but some do. When they cannot achieve something themselves, they target those who have achieved it fairly, attacking them through any means possible.
Abdulhamid is focused on doing good, initiating project after project, and providing empowerment and employment opportunities for community development. In the coming years, we hope to see him in a higher position, with more authority, where he can continue his work with benevolence, compassion, humanity, hard work, and diligence. If that happens, we can be confident that stability will be restored, recession minimized, anguish diminished, and prosperity guaranteed by the will of God.
Lastly, I hope we, the youth, and all citizens, will support him, offering prayers and encouragement. I pray for his well-being, bravery, generosity, and commitment to society. May he continue his work with unwavering dedication, without fear of threats or repercussions. Let us pray for the betterment, stability, peace, harmony, and prosperity of our country.
