The Adamawa State Government has expressed its deep appreciation to the people of the state for their ongoing support and understanding, particularly during recent nationwide protests. While other states faced losses in human lives and property, Adamawa remained peaceful and harmonious.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, on Thursday, August 12, 2024, the government addressed upcoming plans by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to protest. The statement emphasized that protests in Adamawa would be unnecessary due to the strong relationship between the government and the youth, particularly students.

The government highlighted its efforts in supporting education, providing free education, free school feeding, paying WAEC/NECO examination fees, offering scholarships, and donating palliatives and buses to ease transportation challenges. It also mentioned significant investments in other sectors, including security, health, agriculture, sports, and infrastructure, to benefit the youth and their families.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri urged the youth not to allow miscreants to create unnecessary strife or confusion in the state. Citizens were encouraged to continue their lawful activities, and students were asked to remain focused on their academics.

The statement reaffirmed the government's commitment to the youth, expressing trust and confidence in their future. "We trust you!" the Governor declared.
