Imam Dr. Umar Farooq Abdullahi, MPI, Director-General of the Niger State Bureau for Religious Affairs and National Secretary of the Association of Nigeria Imams, attended the National Convention of the Association of Nigeria Imams, held at the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Hall, State Secretariat, Three Arm Zone, Dutse, Jigawa State.
The convention, led by Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Adam, emphasized the importance of unity among Nigerian Imams and focused on spreading Islamic teachings. Themed "Gudumawar Limamai Ga Zaman Lafiya A cikin Al'ummah", the keynote address was delivered by Prof. Ibrahim Ahmad Makari, who highlighted the critical role of Imams in promoting peace and encouraged them to speak truth to both leaders and followers.
During the event, the Association honored Jigawa State Governor, H.E. Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCAI, with the Garkuwan Malamai award. In his acceptance speech, Governor Namadi expressed his gratitude and highlighted his administration’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the state. He also presented the Association with a book titled "Selective Khutbar of Jummu'at Prayer", authored by Ulamas of Jigawa State.
The convention was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, the Secretary to the Government, representatives of five Emirs, commissioners, and other top government figures.
