The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPADDEC) has finalized plans to commence the distribution of starter packs to graduates of its Youth Transformation Programme (YTP) who have met all the program requirements.
According to a statement issued by Nura Tanko Wakili, Head of Press and Public Affairs at the Commission, notifications and invitations have already been sent to the Minister of Youth Development and the Governors of the six participating states for their concurrence on the scheduled dates.
The program itinerary indicates that the national flag-off will take place in Minna, Niger State, on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Beneficiaries from Plateau and Benue states will receive their starter packs in their respective state capitals on November 5 and November 7. Distribution will continue in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State on November 9, Lokoja, Kogi State on November 26, and Ilorin, Kwara State on December 1, 2024.
Only beneficiaries who are duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and who have submitted undertaking letters from their guarantors will receive the starter packs. The 5,000 trained beneficiaries include: Niger (1,623), Kebbi (1,011), Kogi (705), Plateau (365), Kwara (814), and Benue (505).
Tanko Wakili reaffirmed N-HYPADDEC’s commitment to meticulous planning and due diligence to achieve the program’s objectives. He also conveyed the Managing Director, Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa’s gratitude to the beneficiaries for their patience amid challenges, reassuring them of the Commission's dedication to youth welfare and improving living standards.
