An Abuja Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6 has declared Alhaji Razak Olusola Sotayo as the legitimate National President of the Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN).
In a decisive ruling, Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna held that the court lacked jurisdiction over a case filed by Bobi Julius Oghenevwegba and nine others, who sought an injunction to remove Alhaji Sotayo as the union's national president. The court classified the dispute as an internal labor union matter, which falls outside its purview.
Magistrate Iyanna emphasized that the case, initiated by Comrade Julius O. Bobi, lacked merit and affirmed that the court could not overturn decisions made by the union's rank-and-file members.
The case was subsequently dismissed after the defendant's counsel successfully argued that the court had no jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
This ruling reaffirms Alhaji Razak Olusola Sotayo's position as the duly elected leader of MOUN, bringing clarity and resolution to the leadership dispute.
