Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has presented budget of ₦486.218 billion for 2025 to the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Tagged the “Budget of Service,” the Governor stated that the proposed budget represents a 100% increase compared to the 2024 budget.

Out of the total budget, ₦137 billion (28.23%) is allocated for recurrent expenses, while ₦348 billion (71.77%) is earmarked for capital projects. Governor Fintiri emphasized that the budget reflects his administration's commitment to its eight-point agenda, which includes security, infrastructure development, healthcare, food sufficiency, and education.

Highlighting his priorities, the Governor disclosed that ₦88 billion is dedicated to road construction across the state, aimed at improving the transport network and boosting economic growth.

“We recognize the importance of connecting towns with motorable roads to facilitate swift economic expansion,” Fintiri stated.

The House of Assembly, led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has read the bill for the second time and referred it to the Committee on Finance, Budget, and Appropriation for further scrutiny.

Commending the Governor's efforts, Speaker Wesley praised the administration’s adherence to the budget cycle and noted its excellent implementation of the 2024 budget. He described the Governor as a "Project Master" and assured the Assembly's readiness to expedite the bill's passage for implementation in 2025.

Since its inauguration, the 8th Assembly has introduced 51 bills and passed 20, many of which have been signed into law by the Governor, Wesley noted. He also emphasized the unity among Assembly members, stating, “Our goal is the progress and development of Adamawa State, and we remain committed to putting the state first in all our constitutional responsibilities.”
