Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has sympathized with traders around Gwari Market in Minna following a fire disaster that destroyed numerous shops and goods worth millions of naira.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago described the incident as unfortunate and heart-wrenching.
He noted that it is deeply saddening and painful for anyone to lose their source of livelihood, particularly during these economically challenging times.
The governor extended his deepest sympathy to those affected by the fire and urged them to remain steadfast and trust in God’s will, emphasizing that the Almighty, who allowed the incident to occur, can restore all they have lost.
Governor Bago directed the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to immediately investigate the cause of the fire, take measures to prevent a recurrence, and provide necessary relief to the victims.
He reassured the people of Niger State that his administration remains committed to addressing issues affecting their well-being and supporting them during difficult times.
