Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, popularly known as “Fresh Air,” has officially approved the appointment of Barrister Mahmud Abubakar as the District Head of Jalingo-Maiha in Maiha Local Government Area, Northern Senatorial District of Adamawa State.

The district head position had remained vacant for nearly a decade due to protracted legal disputes. However, recent developments at the District Head’s Palace in Maiha hinted that the long-awaited legitimate occupant was finally about to assume the role.

Residents celebrated the announcement with supplications and jubilation, dispelling the tension of uncertainty that had lingered for years. This uplifting development illuminated the Maiha Local Government headquarters, which has been grappling with prolonged electricity outages caused by a faulty transformer awaiting replacement.

Sources revealed that the Emirate Council delivered the official appointment letter to the newly confirmed District Head in Mubi on Tuesday. Barrister Abubakar, the 11th District Head of Jalingo-Maiha, will formally assume office on Thursday, marking the end of an 11-year struggle to fill the position.
