A memorandum approving the establishment of Chinese Mingsheng company in Bauchi to explore more business opportunities, create jobs and improve internal revenue generation has been ratified by the State Executive Council.
The ratification for the establishment of the company, Mingsheng Bauchi Nig. Ltd was revealed to the journalists yesterday by the commissioner of Natural Resources Development, Hon. Mohammed Maiwada Bello on the outcome of the SEC meeting.
Hon. Maiwada Bello explained that the initiative was born out of the state government’s passion to open Bauchi for investment and for a business hub.
It could be recalled that sometime in 2023, a state team led by Governor Bala Mohammed visited Shandong province of the People's Republic of China to attract investors, with the trip yielding significant results.
According to the commissioner, the trip has led to the signing of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) between the various Chinese companies and the Bauchi state government especially in the areas of mining, agriculture, tourism, among other sectors.
Bello stated that as a result of a follow up visit by the Mingsheng officials to Bauchi and subsequent one by their technical personnels who showed interest to invest in exploration and mining activities of monoxide, Tin/columbite, Zircon and other rare earth elements in Toro and Dass Local Government Areas of the state.
Hon. Maiwada said the initiative also highlighted the state government's commitment to fostering public - private partnerships and diversifying the state's economy, expressing optimism that if properly managed, the company could drive innovation, attract investment and improve living standard for the people of Bauchi state.
Bello further explained that the establishment of the Bauchi/Mingsheng company represents a significant move toward economic growth and development, stressing that by exploring more opportunities, the company is expected to contribute to job creation and enhance the state's internal revenue generation.
He also observed that the development will witness industrial growth thereby supporting local industries reliant on raw materials like Tin, Monazite and Ilmenite which is essential for technology and other construction industries.
The commissioner assured that infrastructural development would be given attention as mining projects often lead to improved infrastructure such as roads and other benefits for the surrounding communities.
Hon. Bello further assured that his Ministry will not relent in its efforts to lead other sections or arms of the government in generating revenue to the state, and
appreciated Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the approval for the establishment of Bauchi/Mingsheng company.
