Renowned Islamic Scholars and Monarchs from various walks of life weekend at a convergence in Bauchi appealed to Nigerians irrespective of religious persuasions to embark on prayers for sustained peace, unity, prosperity of the country, and for leaders at all levels to live up to their responsibilities, and mandates.
The convergence was the 49th Annual Maulud of renowned global Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass held Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi where prominent Clerics within Nigeria and African countries such as Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, Mali, Ghana, Niger, among others graced the religious gathering.
Speaking at the occasion, the eldest son of Nyass, Sheikh Mahiy Ibrahim Nyass, said that having seen such a tumultuous convergence of Islamic religious faithful, clearly indicates the unprecedented followers of the Prophet of Islam in Nigeria, signalling that the religion would continue to take centre stage in global affairs.
The global scholar urged Nigerians generally to fervently pray for their leaders at all levels for God to bring to an end the recurring calamities bedeviling the country and humanity
Sheikh Mahiy Ibrahim Inyass commended the Bauchi state government under the dynamic leadership of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, and Sheikh Usman Bauchi leading the Tijjaniyya faithful for their accommodative nature to host the global event in Bauchi, praying for God to reward them abundantly.
Also speaking at the impressive event, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, similarly urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the country to get out of the woods, and for peace and peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethnic groups in the country.
Bayero said, "We are calling on our subjects and disciples to continue praying to our clerics and community leaders for God to help them desirably lead to the Ummah righteousness.
Similarly speaking in the same token, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu emphasised the need for the faithful to stand on the path of the Prophet and His Creator, while praying for peace to reign supreme in the country and the globe.
The Bauchi Emir also urged the Muslims faithful to continue to exhibit good deeds and be of exemplary behavior in all their dealings and day-to-day activities for peaceful co-existence.
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has during the Maulud told the faithful that their day-to-day cries for the country's leadership is against the hardships being faced by the governed, hence the urge by the people for good leadership.
He restated his administration's dedication to providing more dividends of democracy and enhancing the welfare of Islamic scholars.
Governor Mohammed expressed profound gratitude to the organizers for choosing Bauchi State as the venue, and for their continuous prayers for peace and development in the state and the nation at large.
He emphasised the critical role of collaboration between government and religious leaders in achieving sustainable progress and harmony.
Also speaking, the First Lady of Bauchi State, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, lauded the organisers for their dedication to spreading knowledge and fostering spiritual growth within the community.
Sayyadi Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi had earlier in a welcome remark, expressed delight that the Maulud occasion has waxed brotherhood among the Muslims Ummah, especially the descendants and disciples of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass.
