The Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has appointed 50 Hausa singers, comedians, and 15 persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) as Special Assistants.
The appointments were announced on Friday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) party office in Birnin Kebbi. The Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, presented the letters of appointment, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to inclusivity and providing all groups in society with a sense of belonging.
Kana-Zuru praised Governor Idris as a leader dedicated to the welfare of the people, emphasizing that the appointments reflect his determination to positively impact the lives of Kebbi State residents. He urged the appointees to justify the confidence placed in them by supporting the administration in delivering democratic dividends to the people.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK, commended Governor Idris as a reformer committed to transforming the state and fostering human capital development. He noted that the governor’s decision to include individuals from diverse backgrounds in his administration underscores his vision of inclusive governance.
Ahmed-BK highlighted several achievements of the administration, including infrastructure development, such as the construction of the multi-billion naira ultra-modern state secretariat, road expansion projects in Birnin Kebbi with solar-powered streetlights, and the building of classroom blocks in schools. He also pointed to healthcare improvements, agricultural support through the free distribution of fertilizers and solar-powered water pumps, and empowerment initiatives for youth and women.
The commissioner called on residents to rally behind the governor to ensure the successful realization of his vision for a transformed and prosperous Kebbi State.
