Hajiya Amina Namadi, wife of the Jigawa State Governor, has launched the Kwashpap Mix Production Training Program, an initiative designed to empower 600 women and youths with the skills to produce high-quality Kwashpap mix.

Speaking at the official unveiling in Dutse, the state capital, Hajiya Namadi highlighted the significance of the program, describing it as a step towards economic self-reliance and local economic development. Kwashpap, a traditional Nigerian baby food made from cornmeal and other grains, is rich in carbohydrates, fiber, and essential nutrients that support infant and child growth.

The program, spearheaded by the Hamdan Kasiran OVC and Women Assistance Foundation and sponsored by the Jigawa State Government, aligns with Governor Umar Namadi’s priorities in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and youth development. According to Hajiya Namadi, the initiative aims to provide employment opportunities, generate income, and enhance food security in Jigawa State.

“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to improving the livelihoods of our people, promoting economic growth, and empowering women and youths,” she said.

Expressing gratitude to Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda, Wife of the Executive Governor of Katsina State, for chairing the event, Hajiya Namadi also thanked her husband, Governor Umar Namadi, for his unwavering support.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to take the program seriously, emphasizing its potential to transform their economic situation. “This program is an opportunity for you to acquire new skills, improve your livelihoods, and contribute to the economic development of Jigawa State,” she said.

The Kwashpap Mix Production Training Program aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Beneficiaries will receive training in kwashpap production, entrepreneurship, and business management, as well as start-up kits and equipment to establish their businesses.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the wife of the governor and the state government for their efforts in empowering women and youth through such impactful programs.
