The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Area, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, has visited the sites of ongoing construction projects, including four stadiums and two bridges in the Zaria Federal Constituency. These projects are being facilitated by Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Engr. Jamil emphasized that, upon completion, the stadiums will attract significant investments from commercial companies, creating long-term income opportunities for Zaria Local Government. He also noted that the projects would serve as venues for national and international championships, contributing to local tourism and fostering economic growth by attracting visitors and generating revenue for the community.
The stadiums under construction are Nuhu Babajo Stadium (Bubban Dodo), Nasara Township Stadium behind Yahaya Aminu Shopping Complex at Kofar Doka, the Kongo Campus Stadium at Ahmadu Bello University, and the stadium at the Zaria Education City Project site at Kofar Gayan. According to the chairman, these facilities are designed to enhance local sports, attract investments, and host significant sporting activities that will contribute to Zaria's economic development.
The bridges under construction include Aba Bridge in Wuciciri Ward and the Nagoyi Bridge in Gyallesu Ward, which is being reconstructed after its collapse. The council chairman stated that these projects, when completed, will improve the transportation of farm produce, goods, and commuters while boosting economic activities in the affected communities and across the entire local government area.
