In recognition of his significant contributions to youth and women’s empowerment, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky was awarded the “Best Philanthropic and Humanitarian Service for the Development of Women’s Education in the Nation 2024” by the National Youths and Women’s Support Initiative Forum (NYWSIF), a civil society organization and advocacy group.

The announcement was made in an official letter signed by Ambassador Abdullah Ibrahim Saraki, the National President of NYWSIF. The organization commended Sheikh Zakzaky for his unwavering commitment to education and the development of young people and women across Nigeria.

NYWSIF, an advocacy group with over 20,000 members, praised his leadership, guidance, and contributions to national social welfare.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the forum visited Sheikh Zakzaky at his residence in Abuja to formally present the award. They described his efforts as “immeasurable” and highlighted how his dedication has inspired communities to invest in education and youth development.

A phrase from the letter, “Albarka Tana Wurin Manya” (Blessings are with the elders), encapsulated the deep appreciation expressed for his work. Speaking on behalf of the organization, Ambassador Saraki extended heartfelt gratitude for Sheikh Zakzaky’s selfless contributions to advancing women’s education.

During the award ceremony, Sheikh Zakzaky urged the group to continue championing initiatives that uplift youth and women nationwide.

He emphasized the importance of unity, fairness, and sincerity in their advocacy efforts. Discussions also focused on pressing issues such as youth unemployment, drug abuse, and crime, highlighting the need for sustained educational and social interventions.

The event celebrated Sheikh Zakzaky’s enduring impact on Nigerian society and reaffirmed the role of education as a tool for empowerment and national development.
