A member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji, has described the death of 17 Almajiri students in a fire outbreak at an Almajiri school in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State, as a monumental loss to the state and the nation at large.
In a statement signed by Dr. Jaji, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Funds, he expressed shock and deep sorrow over the tragic incident that destroyed Makarantar Malam Ghali, an Almajiri school in Kaura Namoda, claiming the lives of 17 students and leaving many others injured.
The lawmaker extended his heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Zamfara State, Kaura Namoda Local Government Council, and the bereaved families over the unfortunate fire disaster.
Describing the incident as an act of divine destiny, Dr. Jaji prayed to Almighty Allah to prevent such tragedies in the future across the nation.
"I am heartbroken by the tragic fire on Wednesday night at an Almajiri school in my constituency, Makarantar Malam Ghali in Kaura Namoda.
"On behalf of myself and the people of Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, I extend my condolences to the government and people of Zamfara State, the families of the deceased children, and the entire nation as we mourn the loss of these young souls," he stated.
Dr. Jaji further prayed for strength and comfort for the grieving families and a quick recovery for the injured students.
To support the victims, the lawmaker sent a high-powered delegation to the scene of the incident to assess the situation and offer condolences to the affected families. He also donated cash assistance, essential drugs, and relief materials to the victims.
