The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has elected new national executive members who will steer the party’s affairs for the next four years, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and good governance.
In a press release issued yesterday in Bauchi by Amb. Khalid Arewa, National Publicity Secretary of ZLP, the party announced that the elections were conducted during its just-concluded 2025 National Convention, a significant event that brought together party members from across the country.
Delegates reviewed and amended the party’s constitution to prioritise transparency, accountability, and good governance.
During the convention new measures were also introduced to promote inclusivity, ensuring that all Nigerians have opportunities to participate in the party’s activities and decision-making processes.
Newly elected executive members are: Hon. Chief Barr. Dan Nwanyanwu who was elected as national chairman and Hon. Yahaya Makama - National Secretary.
Others are Alh. Usman Danjuma - National Vice Chairman North Central; Barr. Thankgod Enohoro LLM - National Legal Adviser; Mrs Chinyare Oge-Kalu - National Women Leader - Comr. Lucky Okurabore elected as National Youth Leader and Amb. Khalid Arewa, an indigene from Bauchi state as National Publicity Secretary of the party.
Also, other executive members were elected from the six geo-political zones, ensuring balanced representation and reflecting the party’s commitment to diversity and national unity.
Speaking on the outcome of the convention, Amb. Khalid Arewa stated, "The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its 2025 National Convention, held on February 6, 2025. The convention, which brought together party members from across the country, marked a significant milestone in the party's journey."
The ZLP reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the principles of equality, equity, and transparency.
The party extended an open invitation to all Nigerians, urging them to join in the collective effort to build a better and more prosperous nation.
"ZLP is set to play a greater role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape, advocating for policies that prioritize the welfare of the people, economic growth, and national unity," he added.
