A PDP chieftain and traditional title holder of Jarman Bauchi, Alh. Garba Muhammad Noma has said that he is ready and fully prepared to support any PDP governorship aspirants from any of the 20 LGAs of the state.
Noma, a one-time state PDP chairman in Bauchi recalled recent comment on the PDP governorship candidate in 2027 polls to come from Bauchi LGA was a misinterpretation of facts by the media.
The Garba, also a one-time speaker of the State House of Assembly said, "The media sometimes in it's presentation cut the size to bring the middle of the communication or at times cut the middle to bring out the two sizes of the body language".
Confronted by the media in Bauchi Monday on his recent reported comment that the next state governor would come from the Bauchi LGA, Noma refuted the media report.
He stated, "You are referring to what I have said during the recent distribution of palliative by the chairman of Bauchi Local Government Council, Mahmoud Babamaji when it was reported that I prefer the next PDP governor come from Bauchi LGA".
"When I was there, somebody ask me, Jarmai, there are so many aspirants from Bauchi LGA that want to be Governor in the 2027 elections. And what I reply in Hausa was 'Allah shi bamu".
"I don't mean that somebody from Bauchi LGA should be denied that position. What I said, 'Allah shi bamu', if somebody comes from Bauchi LGA with a prayer for Bauchi to have, I think it's wrong for me to say no".
"But that does not stop me from supporting anybody from any nook and corner of Bauchi state. I have been saying before the governor and stakeholders that may Allah give it s the right person to lead in PDP come 2027".
"I have never said it should come from the Bauchi LGA, but what is bad if somebody from Bauchi LGA becoming the governor, it's the most closest, I can be closer to anybody".
Noma added, "It all defends upon the interpretation, but I am entitled to my opinion, and my opinion can be said anywhere, and that doesn't stop me from supporting anybody from any LGA of the state."
