CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman has officially assumed duty as the 38th Commissioner of Police in Niger State, taking over from AIG Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, who was recently promoted and redeployed to a higher office.

CP Elleman, a highly experienced officer with 31 years of service in the Nigeria Police Force, hails from Kaugama Local Government Area in Jigawa State. He was enlisted as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) on June 25, 1994.

He holds a Diploma, a Bachelor's degree (LL.B Hons.), and a Master’s degree (LL.M) in Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also attended the Nigeria Law School in Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar. His extensive training includes professional development at both local and international institutions such as the Police Staff College, Jos, the National Institute of Police Studies (NIPS), and specialized courses in the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.

Over the years, CP Elleman has held several key positions, including O/C Legal and Prosecution in Taraba State between 1996 and 1999, Pioneer Head of Operations at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2003, Director of Intelligence, Investigation, and Enforcement at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in 2009, and Head of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit in 2019 and 2023. Until his recent posting, he served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Maritime, Lagos, from 2024 to March 2025.

Upon assuming office in Niger State, CP Elleman assured the public of his commitment to maintaining law and order, enhancing public safety, and reducing crime across the state. He called for cooperation from residents, community leaders, and all stakeholders to achieve these security objectives.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP W.A. Abiodun, urged the public to support the new Commissioner of Police in his efforts to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in the state.
