Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has called on the Muslim community to remain true advocates of Islam in order to earn Allah’s mercy and rewards.
The governor’s message was conveyed through his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, who was represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Musa Salihu Bawa, during the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Tafsir organized by the Annoor Juma’at Mosque, Government House, Minna.
Governor Bago urged Muslims to reflect on the teachings of Ramadan and strive to become better citizens by promoting peace and unity in society.
Unity Among Islamic Sects
The Director General, Bureau for Religious Affairs, Malam Umar Faruk Abdullahi, commended Governor Umaru Bago for his foresight in fostering unity among different Islamic sects, bringing them together for a common purpose of love and togetherness.
Various Islamic scholars also lauded the governor’s efforts in uniting the Muslim Ummah and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance as he leads the state.
The event concluded with special prayers for the peace and development of Niger State and Nigeria at large.
