The Kebbi State Public Analysts Forum has organized a special prayer session in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kaura Gwandu), to seek divine guidance and success for their administrations.
The prayer, held on Thursday shortly after Iftar at the Central Mosque in Birnin Kebbi, was attended by Alhaji Umar Buro Idris, the younger brother of the Kebbi State Governor, alongside prominent politicians and community leaders.
Leading the prayer, the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Mallam Imam Muktar Abubakar, emphasized that prayer is a powerful tool for ensuring peace, stability, and progress in society and the nation at large.
"As responsible citizens, our duty is to pray for our leaders to succeed in their service to the people," he stated.
The Chief Imam also urged Muslims to embody the values of tolerance, peace, and love, stressing the importance of adhering to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an in all aspects of life to foster harmony and prosperity.
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Umar Buro Idris commended the forum for its efforts and encouraged citizens to use the holy month of Ramadan as an opportunity to pray for their leaders.
"If God appoints a leader for you, it becomes your responsibility to support and pray for him to succeed, as his success is the success of all, and his failure affects everyone," he said.
Also addressing the gathering, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, lauded the initiative and reiterated the importance of prayers in addressing societal challenges.
"We must continuously pray for our leaders and acknowledge their efforts. Our Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has done a lot for the state, and we must support him with prayers to help him overcome the challenges facing Kebbi," he said.
In his remarks, the chairman of the forum, Abubakar ABK, praised both Governor Idris and President Tinubu for their leadership, stating that the best way to support them was through prayers for their continued success.
The event was organized by a committee comprising Zaidu Bala, Usman Anache, Babangida Pele, Dr. Ibrahim Jikan Dede, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris.
