The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has launched the distribution of 7,000 bags of rice to All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Zamfara State. The event took place in Gusau, the state capital, as part of efforts to support party members during the holy month of Ramadan.
Handing over the food items to party executives, Dr. Matawalle, who disclosed that the donation was a personal gesture from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urged APC members to continue praying for peace in Zamfara. He assured them that the federal government is taking all necessary steps to combat banditry and other criminal activities affecting the state and the northwest region.
In a statement signed by APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, it was noted that Minister Matawalle was represented at the event by the Zamfara State APC Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani.
Danfulani emphasized that the donation was an acknowledgment of the efforts of APC leaders in Zamfara, recognizing their dedication, hard work, and loyalty, which have strengthened the party. He added that despite not being the ruling party in the state, APC members appear more united and resilient than their counterparts.
He further called for continued understanding and cooperation among party members at all levels, stressing the importance of unity in strengthening the party. He assured members that the leadership remains committed to supporting the party’s growth and success.
The Minister explained that the 7,000 bags of rice will be distributed free of charge to targeted beneficiaries, including state, local government, and ward-level executives, to ensure they can celebrate the forthcoming Eid festivities with ease.
Receiving the donation on behalf of party members, the APC State Secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, expressed gratitude to the minister for the timely intervention. He noted that the distribution comes at a crucial time when many people are struggling with daily needs. He assured members that all intended beneficiaries would receive their rightful share.
Dangaladima further praised Zamfara APC members for their patience, discipline, and dedication to the party’s growth. He highlighted that the party's strong reputation continues to attract new members across the state.
The distribution ceremony was attended by key APC officials, including the APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau; Welfare Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Idris Ataka; Assistant Publicity Secretary, Hon. Junaidu Attahiru Dosara; Assistant Welfare Secretary, Hon. Shehu J. Muhammad; Gusau Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Tijjani Dan-Ayyah; Kaura Namoda APC Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Danmalikin Gabake; and former Chairmen of Gusau Local Government, Engr. Babangida Abdullahi, Hon. Sanusi Mohammed Sarki, and Hon. Ibrahim Maaji Admin, among others.
