Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has launched a groundbreaking initiative to provide free dialysis treatment across the state, marking a major step toward accessible and affordable healthcare for residents.

The initiative is part of the governor’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector, ensuring that both urban and rural communities benefit from improved medical services.

The newly established dialysis center at Adamawa State Specialists Hospital, Yola, is the first of its kind in any state-owned medical facility in the region. Before its establishment, dialysis patients had to rely solely on the Federal Medical Center in Yola or travel long distances to access treatment.

Dr. Wadinga Dauda, the Medical Director of the Specialists Hospital, commended Governor Fintiri for his dedication to public health. He highlighted the administration’s efforts in upgrading key hospital facilities and constructing new cottage hospitals across local government areas.

A dialysis patient at the facility shared their experience, expressing deep gratitude for the life-changing impact of the free treatment program.

Governor Fintiri has earned widespread praise as a visionary leader committed to transforming Adamawa’s healthcare system and addressing long-standing medical challenges in the state.
