Barrister Aisha Ahmad Muhammad "Addah", a woman/girl right activist, has urged women to brace up and challenge patriarchal norms, stereotype and discrimination faced by women to secure their rightful place.
Aisha fondly known as "Addah" made the plea in her message on the International Women Day Celebration 2025.
She said women must start by recognizing and valuing their worth while acknowledging the immense contributions of their counterpart in all section of human endeavours.
"As we celebrate this day, we must acknowledge the tremendous progress made by women in various fields. From science and technology to arts and politics, women have broken barriers, shattered glass ceilings, and paved the way for future generations.
"However, despite the progress, women still face numerous challenges. We must therefore continue to fight for equal opportunities, and equal rights irrespective of all forms of discrimination, harassment, and violence." She urged.
Barrister Muhammad who is the founder of Sarauniya Girl Child Foundation and Ambassador for the Girl Child noted that the day was set aside to honour the struggles, sacrifices, and successes of women across the globe.
According to her, it is therefore became imperative for women to be more dedicated to empowerment, education and skills provision to the women folks to bridge the gap in the competitive global space.
The women activist who had provided scholarships to over 5,000 girls in various institutions had also trained more than 5,000 others on skills acquisition to prepare them for the challenges ahead.
Barrister Muhammad reminded women on the need to remember those who have been silenced, marginalized, and oppressed all over the globe and stand in solidarity with them while reaffirming commitment to creating a world where women and girls can thrive.
The Girl Ambassador who is also the Board Secretary and Executive Director, Legal Services, Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service said all must be allies to women and girls, listen to their stories, and amplify their voices and in turn, create spaces for them to lead, to innovate, and to showcase their talents and potentials in every discipline.
While pledging to continue to do her best to better the lives of women and girls, the Founder Sarauniya Girl Child Foundation tasked women on resilience, dedication and perseverance to enable them achieve true equality.
