Governor Umar Namadi has been honoured with the prestigious Governor of the Year 2024 award by the Leadership Newspaper Group at its Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony, held at the State House Old Banquet Hall in Abuja.
Governor Namadi received the award alongside other distinguished state governors and eminent Nigerians who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Namadi expressed heartfelt appreciation to Leadership Newspaper for what he described as an “inspirational and revered honour.” He commended the media group for its consistent efforts in promoting national discourse and acknowledged the significance of the event’s theme, which centered on fiscal reforms and governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Reaffirming his commitment to quality governance, Governor Namadi said the recognition would further inspire his administration to accelerate the implementation of key development projects across Jigawa State.
“We consider this mandate a sacred trust, and we remain fully committed to using it to improve the lives of our people,” he stated.
“This award is not just a recognition of what we’ve done—it’s a call to do even more. We will continue to pursue inclusive, people-focused development for a Greater Jigawa.”
He concluded by praying for divine guidance in his leadership journey and expressed deep gratitude to the people of Jigawa State for their unwavering support.
