In a determined effort to bridge the infrastructure gap in the education sector within the Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency, Rep. Rt Hon Kwamoti La’ori has prioritized the development of critical educational facilities—including classrooms, staff offices, laboratories, examination halls, and ICT centers—at Pare Girls Secondary School (GSS), Numan.

Commissioning a new block of classrooms and an office on Tuesday, Rep. La’ori reaffirmed his commitment to education, stating, “Eight out of every ten projects I have executed in the last five years have been in education.” This statement underscores the value he places on educational advancement as a tool for community development.

The school had previously raised concerns about overcrowded classrooms and the lack of perimeter fencing—challenges that threatened the safety and learning conditions of students. The newly commissioned facilities are expected to ease these constraints as students resume next week, ensuring adequate space and improved working conditions for staff.

The principal of the school, visibly elated, described the development as timely and critical for sustaining quality education in a growing academic environment.

At the event, Hon. Kate Mamuno, Majority Leader of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and representative for Demsa, commended Rep. La’ori’s efforts and emphasized the importance of investing in girls’ education, echoing the adage, “Educating a woman is educating the world.”

Hon. James Iliya, Adamawa State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, praised the lawmaker’s consistent drive to reduce infrastructure deficits, noting that the initiatives align with the vision of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

Mr. Penuel Birsan, Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board, encouraged parents to take advantage of the government’s free education policy and ensure their children attend school regularly. He also urged adequate preparation for the upcoming WAEC examinations, which have undergone significant updates.

Representing the Hama Bàchama, the Wakili Numan expressed satisfaction with Rep. La’ori’s performance and pledged continued support for his future endeavors.

The Elders’ Forum echoed this sentiment, lauding the lawmaker’s visionary leadership and calling on the community to rally behind him in his political journey.

Among the dignitaries present were Hon. Bulus Daniel (Chairman, Lamurde LGA), Hon. Innocent Koto (Chairman, Numan LGA), Rev. Daniel Japheth Madika (Councillor, Numan II), Elder Amna Ibrahim Farai, Dr. Dishi Khobe (Adviser on Food Security), Chief Niwesa George Kushi (Chairman, Jimeta Ultra Modern Market), and Chief Senan Murey, along with other party stakeholders and community leaders.

The event concluded with a moving vote of thanks delivered by Miss Hafsat Fatima Ibrahim of JSS 1A, who spoke on behalf of the students, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the new facilities.

Adding cultural flair to the occasion, Rep. La’ori was welcomed with vibrant performances by the Dyalla and Ngra-Jiyan cultural troupes of the Bachama Kingdom.
