Security operatives in Kebbi State have successfully rescued Augustine Madubiya, a final-year student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), who was abducted by unknown gunmen.
Madubiya, a student in the Department of Economics, was reportedly taken by the assailants during an attack. However, another student, Collineous Steven, a 200-level student of Business Administration, managed to escape during the incident.
Confirming the development, the Director of Security at the Cabinet Office, AbdurRahman Zaga, said the student was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with his colleagues.
Zaga assured that the state government has intensified security measures in the area to prevent future occurrences. He called on members of the public to support security agencies with credible intelligence to aid their operations.
He also reiterated the commitment of the current administration to providing adequate logistical support to all security agencies to ensure the safety and protection of lives and property in the state.
