In a major breakthrough in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Nigeria’s North-West, the Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of a notorious terrorist collaborator, Alhaji Shaudo Alku, during an airstrike in Sokoto State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, May 18, 2025, by the Nigerian Army, the Air Component of Operation Fagge Yamma executed a precision airstrike targeting a gathering of terrorists near Tunfa Primary School in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Alhaji Alku, described as a close ally of the infamous terrorist kingpin Bello Turji, was reportedly invited from the Niger Republic for a high-level meeting when the strike occurred.
He was killed alongside several of his men and some yet-to-be-identified terrorist commanders.
Military authorities say the successful operation marks a significant step in efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating within the region and to weaken the leadership structure of the Turji-led faction.
“The Nigerian Armed Forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in affected communities,” the statement added.
