Two prominent northern civil society organisations, the Northern Accountability League (NAL) and the Uba Sani Legacy Projects Solidarity Assembly (ULEPSA), have hailed Governor Uba Sani’s extensive road development efforts, describing them as a model for inclusive governance and economic transformation in Kaduna State.
At a joint press conference held Monday at the iconic Arewa House in Kaduna, the groups praised what they called an “unprecedented rollout” of road infrastructure under Governor Sani’s administration, with over 78 road projects spanning 775 kilometres initiated in less than two years.
"Governor Uba Sani is redefining governance in Kaduna through visionary leadership anchored on people-first development," said Mallam Yusuf Ibrahim, Convener of NAL. “Twelve urban roads have already been completed and commissioned, including Garba Ja Abdulkadir Road, Water Intake Road, Sultan-Surame Road, Bissau Road, and several strategic township roads in Unguwan Muazu and Kawo Layout.”
Khadija Mohammed of ULEPSA emphasized that these roads represent more than infrastructure. “These roads are not mere concrete—they are arteries of opportunity, inclusion, and social justice,” she said.
The groups commended the Governor for prioritising rural connectivity, citing the 21.7km Anchau–Gadas–Palla Road, 18km Sanga–Jema’a Road, 10.2km Dan Makwarwa–Hunkuyi Road, and the transformative 35km Gadan Gayan–Gwaraji–Kujama Junction Road as examples of equitable development reaching neglected communities.
Also lauded were the 21km Kasuwan Magani–Wusar–Gwaraji Road and other projects across Soba, Igabi, Chikun, and Kajuru LGAs, which the CSOs described as evidence of a government committed to restoring dignity to grassroots communities.
In a joint statement, the organisations urged federal authorities and international development partners to rally behind Kaduna’s ambitious infrastructure push, describing Governor Uba Sani as “a builder, a unifier, and a visionary leader steering Kaduna towards peace and prosperity.”
The press conference ended with a rallying call for other states to adopt Kaduna’s model of development and recognise infrastructure as a tool for national cohesion and economic empowerment.
