JAMB Begins Rescheduled UTME Examinations

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates who were affected by technical issues during the initial examination period.

The examination body yesterday sent notices for the retake of the hampered UTME to the affected candidates.

Candidates in Lagos, Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Abia states received SMS notifications on the date, time and centres for the rescheduled examination.

A total of 379,997 candidates are expected to participate in the rescheduled examination, following the glitches that marred the original test sessions.

According to JAMB’s text messages, the rescheduled examination will hold today, tomorrow, and Monday.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, who addressed reporters on Wednesday in Abuja on the errors, acknowledged that a combination of human and technological hiccups led to the disruptions in the conduct of this year’s UTME.

The board, however, ruled out sabotage, assuring the public that it was taking corrective measures to ensure a smooth rescheduled UTME.

Candidates in the first batch of the rescheduled examination, which started at 8:00 across the nation, have been seen exiting the examination halls, showing that the first batch has concluded their exams.
