The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Niger State has reactivated its security sensitization drive and called for stronger collaboration with Radio Niger to deepen public enlightenment and promote peace across the state.

The call was made by the NOA State Director, Alhaji Ibrahim Gbongbo, during a courtesy visit to the newly appointed General Manager of the Broadcasting Corporation of Niger State, Mohammed Kolos, at the Radio Niger complex in Minna.

Alhaji Gbongbo emphasized that NOA, as a key agency tasked with sensitizing Nigerians on government policies and encouraging good citizenship, depends heavily on broadcast platforms like Radio Niger to effectively reach the masses.

He noted that NOA has intensified advocacy visits and awareness campaigns on insecurity and related challenges, stressing the need for continued partnership with media institutions to achieve greater impact.

In his response, Mohammed Kolos pledged sustained support for NOA’s activities, assuring that Radio Niger will continue to broadcast the agency’s programmes and help disseminate critical information to the public.

He urged NOA to scale up its campaigns against social vices such as drug abuse, youth restiveness, and hooliganism, warning that these issues remain threats to societal development.

Kolos also revealed ongoing efforts by his team to expand broadcast hours despite persistent power supply challenges, in order to fulfill their mandate of informing, educating, and entertaining the public.

The General Manager further commended the Governor Umar Bago-led administration for its achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and human capital development, calling for collective support towards the realization of the "New Niger" agenda.

The visit ended with the presentation of NOA sensitization booklets to Radio Niger, intended for use in news content and awareness programmes.
