The Kebbi State Government has disbursed over N266 million to cover tuition fees for 100 indigenes studying in foreign universities, primarily in India, as part of its ongoing investment in education.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Hon. Isah Abdullahi-Tunga, at a press conference held in Birnin Kebbi on Friday. Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Hussaini Tata, the commissioner lauded the initiative as a major milestone under the administration of Governor Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu).
"The Kebbi State Government, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved and released the payment of N266,964,560 for the tuition fees of 100 Kebbi State indigenes studying in various universities in India," Abdullahi-Tunga stated.
