The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted accreditation to all 28 academic programmes submitted by Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara, during its recent accreditation exercise held between February 16 and 26, 2025.
This development was disclosed following the release of the 2025 accreditation results for academic programmes across Nigerian universities by the NUC.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Yahya A. Zakari, 20 of the university’s programmes received full accreditation with excellent ratings, while eight others were granted interim accreditation. He described the outcome as a clear reflection of the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.
Among the accredited programmes are BNSc. Nursing Science, BSc. Public Health, BSc. Physiotherapy, BSc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics, BSc. Computer Science, BSc. Biology, BSc. Geology, BSc. Mass Communication, BSc. Economics, and BSc. Electronics. Others include BA History and International Studies, BA English, BA Islamic Studies, BEd. Primary Education, and BEd. Early Childhood Education, among others.
The university management extended its deep appreciation to the Zamfara State Government for its continuous support and provision of necessary resources that made the successful accreditation possible.
In particular, the Vice Chancellor lauded Governor Dauda Lawal for his commitment and responsiveness to the needs of the university, which he said played a crucial role in fulfilling all NUC accreditation requirements.
The management also expressed gratitude to faculty, staff, and students for their dedication and collaborative efforts that contributed to this academic milestone.
“This achievement not only elevates the reputation of Zamfara State University but also reaffirms our commitment to delivering quality education that meets both national and international standards,” Professor Zakari stated.
