The Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Hon. Jamilu Abubakar Albani, has lavished praise on the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for his steadfast commitment to educational development.
Describing the governor as “a visionary leader whose inclusive governance model is transforming lives across Kaduna State,” Hon. Albani made the remarks on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, during the official launch of the NECO/NBAIS Education Empowerment Programme at the Pilgrimage Board Hall, Sabon Gari Local Government Secretariat.
The initiative is designed to empower 350 students from various secondary schools in the area through the free distribution of NECO and NBAIS examination forms—a significant milestone in the local government’s education support efforts.
“This is a historic day for education in Sabon Gari,” Hon. Albani declared. “Every achievement we record at the grassroots level is made possible by the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani. He is the backbone of our success, and I proudly declare my full support for his second-term ambition.”
The council chairman also urged the people of Kaduna State to rally behind Governor Sani’s administration, which he described as one of “inclusion, development, and empowerment.”
Citing key interventions within Sabon Gari, Hon. Albani pointed to road construction projects in Hanwa, Palladan, and Basawa wards, as well as scholarship awards to students across the eleven wards of Sabon Gari and Basawa constituencies. “Governor Sani’s impact is visible and commendable,” he said.
He reaffirmed the council’s dedication to complementing the state government's efforts, ensuring that youth empowerment and education remain central to its development agenda.
Speaking in an interview shortly after the event, Hon. Albani revealed that the Governor’s strong commitment to education inspired him to launch the initiative. “What impressed me most was the Governor’s efforts in reducing school fees in government-owned schools, which has enabled underprivileged children to access education,” he stated.
He emphasised the role of local government chairmen in supporting the Governor’s vision: “While the Governor works at the state level, we must play our part at the local level.”
“Our goal is to uplift the lives of ordinary people in Sabon Gari. This initiative is just the beginning,” he added.
Hon. Albani also highlighted ongoing development projects: “The road from Yan Goro to Hanwa has been completed; only the streetlights remain. Other projects are ongoing in areas like Unguwan Gabas and beyond.”
On security, he lauded the Governor for improvements in formerly volatile areas such as Giwa and Birnin Gwari, noting that they are now safer and more accessible.
“In Sabon Gari, we have nothing but praise for Uba Sani. Come 2027, he will win by a landslide,” he declared confidently.
He described Governor Sani as “a man of the people” who prioritises rural and underprivileged communities. “From the commissioning of a federal project that we initiated even before the federal government stepped in, to the upcoming projects we will execute with his support—including the LIMI Hospital—I will personally invite journalists and stakeholders to witness the progress,” he concluded.
Some of the programme’s beneficiaries, visibly elated, expressed their gratitude to both the governor and the local government chairman for the support.
Students from Government Secondary School, Hanwa, and Jama’a told journalists: “Governor Uba Sani and Chairman Albani have given us hope. This gesture goes beyond financial aid—it’s a motivation to strive for excellence.”
The event drew stakeholders from the education sector, political leaders, and traditional institutions, all of whom commended the collaborative effort to uplift the academic prospects of the youth in Sabon Gari.
