A hardline supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in particular, in Bauchi state, Khamis Musa Darazo, has long admired the legacy of the renowned Hausa musician, Dauda Kahutu Rarara from his community. 

According to the him, Rarara's impact on Nigerian music and culture is undeniably inspiring, as his songs often carries messages of unity, hope, and resilience, resonating with people from all walks of life in Nigeria and even outside its shores.

Khamis Musa Darazo noted that throughout Nigeria's political journey since 1999, Rarara's music and songs have been playing significant roles in the country's democratic drives especially in terms of norms and values politicking during various election cycles.

Darazo in a chat with newsmen in Bauchi yesterday implored upon President Ahmed Tinubu to consider renaming one of the major streets in the FCT, Abuja after versatile musician, Dauda Kahutu Rarara in recognition of his socio-economic contribution to the growth and development of the country.

He observed that Rarara's songs have been used to mobilise support, promote peaceful coexistence, and inspire civic engagement among Nigerians, and poster national cohesion and identity, while his legacy extends beyond entertainment.

The APC henchman believes that naming a road after Kahutu Rarara would be a glowing tribute to his songs enduring impact in the Nigerian community, and requested the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike to set the face for the bestowment of the honor.

Malam Khamis Darazo explained that Rarara's songs have been a beacon of hope and unity, stressing that naming a road after him would ensure that future generations remember his contributions to our cultural heritage.

"Rarara's music continues to inspire artists and politicians alike. His influence can be seen in the way his songs have been used in various campaigns and public events, promoting messages of peace and development, and by honoring Rarara in this way," Darazo hopes to preserve the musical legacy for years to come.
