The Minister of State for Defence, Muhammad Bello Matawalle, has assured Nigerians that the Federal Government will provide adequate security across the country, including the deployment of fighter jets, to ensure the safety of farmers.
Matawalle made the disclosure during an interview with journalists at his residence in Maradun town, Zamfara State.
He stated that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has finalized arrangements for the deployment of special security squads and fighter jets to patrol forests and flush out bandits and other criminal elements. According to him, these efforts will enable farmers to access their farmlands without fear.
The minister also commended some state governors for their contributions to supporting security agencies in the fight against banditry. He, however, condemned those who politicize security matters, describing such actions as unpatriotic.
Matawalle further noted that President Tinubu has given significant attention to the northern region, particularly in the area of political appointments, including key security and leadership positions occupied by northerners.
He called on Nigerians to support and cooperate with the Federal Government and offered prayers for the success of President Tinubu’s administration.
