The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has lauded President Bola Tinubu's infrastructure development efforts, stating that the president's "good works have killed the coalition" of opposition forces ahead of the 2027 general election.
Wike made the remarks on Tuesday during the commissioning of newly completed roads in the nation’s capital. He said the performance of the Tinubu-led administration has weakened attempts by opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to unite against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
"Some people, whatever you do, will not be happy; many of them were born not to be happy," Wike said. "Under Tinubu, contractors now have confidence in the government. Your good works have killed the coalition in Nigeria."
Meanwhile, President Tinubu, who also spoke at the event, acknowledged that Wike is not yet a member of the APC but emphasized that the party remains open to welcoming him at any time.
Tinubu made the statement while commissioning the Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way), stretching from Ring Road One (Nnamdi Azikiwe Way) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Road), along with several other roads in the Katampe District of Abuja.
“With Wike, the APC will continue to be in a joyous mood, while our opponents will keep writhing in pain,” the president added.
