The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the Emir of Gusau, His Royal Highness Dr. Ibrahim Bello, who died on Thursday after a brief illness.

In a personally signed statement issued to the press, the former Zamfara State Governor described the monarch’s death as a monumental loss to both Zamfara State and the nation, highlighting the late Emir’s pivotal role in promoting peace, unity, and development.

“The passing of the Emir of Gusau, HRH Dr. Ibrahim Bello, is heartbreaking. His death leaves a significant void, especially in areas where his royal guidance and wise counsel were crucial—such as security, education, healthcare, and economic advancement,” Matawalle stated.

He emphasised that the Emir’s leadership and wisdom were especially needed as the state continues to grapple with pressing challenges and aspires toward lasting stability and progress.

“The Emir passed on at a time when his unwavering royal service was most needed,” the Minister added.

Matawalle extended his heartfelt condolences to the Emir’s family, the Gusau Emirate Council, and the people of Zamfara State.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the late Emir’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
