The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The nationwide examination, which took place from May 12 to May 23, 2025, saw a total of 179,201 candidates registered across 12 subjects.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani. The release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

Chairing the meeting, Dr. (Mrs.) Folake Olatunji-David—Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education—commended the transparency and efficiency of the processes leading to the results' release. The session was attended by NECO management and selected secondary school principals from across the country.

In addition, the committee approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit examination. The re-sit is scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025, and will focus on two core subjects: Mathematics and English Studies.
