The Deputy Governor for Economic Policy at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi-Dattijo, has been honoured with the Icon of Public Service Transformation Award by the Ahmadu Bello University Student Representative Council (ABUSRC).
The award was presented during the Council’s 2025 Dinner and Award Night held in Zaria and recognizes Dr. Dattijo’s exceptional contributions to governance, economic reform, and institutional transformation in Nigeria.
A distinguished alumnus of ABU, Dr. Dattijo was represented at the event by Malam Bello Adamu, who received the award on his behalf. In his remarks, Adamu described the recognition as a humbling affirmation of Dr. Dattijo’s lifelong commitment to public service.
“Dr. Dattijo’s dedication to driving positive change in Nigeria is truly commendable,” he said.
Dr. Dattijo, who currently plays a key role in shaping Nigeria’s monetary and economic policies at the Central Bank, previously served in several senior positions within the Kaduna State Government. His career has consistently focused on institutional reforms, inclusive development, and evidence-based policymaking.
The ABUSRC award highlights his growing influence as a technocrat and public sector reform advocate whose impact continues to resonate within and beyond Nigeria’s economic landscape.
