Police Invite El-Rufai, Six Others Over Alleged Criminal Conspiracy, Public Disturbance

The Nigeria Police Force has invited former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, and six other members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to appear for questioning over allegations bordering on criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance of public peace, mischief, and causing grievous hurt.

In a letter dated 4th September 2025 and signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Abdullahi, the affected individuals are to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Kaduna, on 8th September 2025, for further investigation into the allegations brought against them.

The letter, addressed to the Chairman of the ADC, Kaduna Chapter, listed the following individuals:

1. Malam Nasir El-Rufai

2. Bashir Sa’idu

3. Jafaru Sani

4. Ubaidullah Mohammed (a.k.a. 30)

5. Nasiru Maikano

6. Aminu Abita

7. Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (a.k.a. Mikiya)

According to the police, the invitation is part of ongoing investigative activities concerning complaints lodged by undisclosed individuals.

While the letter did not specify the nature of the incident or events leading to the allegations, the police noted that the invitees are expected to assist in clarifying the matters under investigation.

The Police assured of its commitment to due process and urged all concerned to cooperate fully with investigators.

Efforts to reach the ADC party officials and some of the listed individuals for comments were unsuccessful as of press time.
